Where to Now for World Property

Having worked in the real estate industry for over 20 years the current global meltdown is unique.

Maybe we are all experiencing a property tsunami or one of the worst declines this past decade! We are all busy looking in our crystal balls and playing that waiting game.

Since we are now well into 2009, and although the recession is still biting, people are telling me they have clients still willing to buy with cash, but the sellers now have to be realistic!

The agents in the past were reluctant to tell their clients that they had offers, below the asking price. Now those same agents are advising the sellers to be realistic and accept most offers!

As Warren Buffett was once said ‘Buy when others are fearful. Sell when others are brave!’ The question is not IF but WHEN will the market for real estate turn?

Pundits predict that although the drop has been dramatic, also the rise could catch a lot of buyers out too! Could we see a rise after Obama starts in the Oval office? Maybe it will pick up when the banks open their vaults a bit?

We have been organising exhibitions for a number of years and own, what is one of the longest running real estate exhibitions in the world called The Worldwide Property Shows.

We started way back in 1995, and have suffered from the Gulf War, Sars, 9/11 and still the serious investors have been in the mood to buy!
